JUSTIN E. TEPE
MANAGING ATTORNEY
Justin has been representing the cannabis industry since it began in Maryland. Justin’s practice focuses exclusively on representing operators and ancillary businesses in the cannabis industry.
Justin serves as outside general counsel and regulatory advisor to clients on a broad range of matters, including employment law, contract negotiations, commercial disputes, and transactions. He assists cannabis clients with writing applications for licenses and through all stages of the business lifecycle. Justin helps his clients with developing compliant operating procedures, drafting management agreements, and in corporate governance and formation. He also regularly represents clients in investigations and enforcement actions brought by cannabis regulatory bodies.
Drawing on his background as a commercial litigator, when disputes arise that cannot be solved independently, Justin represents cannabis clients through the state and federal courts in Maryland and DC.
Justin is a regular contributor to media publications and speaker at seminars and conventions on cannabis law.
Prior to entering private practice, Justin served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Shannon E. Avery of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
